Having a plan B (Generator)

Off-the-grid living teaches you to have a series of backup plans in case something
goes wrong. Proper planning for potential problems creates success when the
time comes. Your solar system needs a backup: a generator that can power your
batteries during rainy or cloudy days. Your system can be built with an automatic
generator that switches on when it senses the batteries are low or a manual
system that turns on and charges on demand. Either way, this backup plan will
keep the lights on when you need it.
For our home, we chose a Guardian 22KW Generator by Generac. This generator
is more than adequate for our needs. It can charge our batteries in approximately
30 minutes and at the same time provide all of the energy needs for our house.
Remember to run your generator once a month to keep it operational
